While some might feel that second place is the first loser, our glass is always half full, so we like to think that second is that cooler-in-a-totally-subtle-kinda-way wingman/sidekick to first and recognition in any form feels awesome. Shine Director Drury Bynum‘s submission, ‘No Barricades, No Bars,’ is a unique short about Baltimore photographer Devin Allen’s fateful moment at the Baltimore Freddie Gray protests that rocketed his work to the cover of Time Magazine and changed his life forever. This video was part of our larger on-going series documenting the Creative Class in Baltimore called SCOUT.
Here’s to you, number two!
